Before immersing yourself in the art of Sompol Yarangsee, and relaxing in Nitaya Tamwong’s Colorful Art Garden, you’ll need to travel from Chiang Mai along Highway 118, to Ban Mae Kachan.
Interesting sights along the way
- Wiang Kalong historical site,is an ancient pottery village. The ceramics are unique for their light weight and pale blue and green glazing.
- Mae Chedi Temple, is a 100 year old pagoda which contains Buddha relics and the Tripitaka– a Buddhist holy book. 500m from the temple is a huge lake, Wang Majcha, which is home to various species of fish and a popular spot for locals to picnic.
